I have c. 2 years of experience of research management; how do I decide whether RMIT-1 or RMIT-2 is right for me?The 2-year limit is not strict and if you have more than two years' experience, RMIT-1 may still be for you. However, our recommendation is to consider your own needs, and carefully relate them to the content and purpose of the courses: RMIT-1 is designed to be an introduction to the profession, and is suitable for people who are interested in getting a complete picture of the entire research project cycle and the role that research management plays. If this describes what you need, then RMIT-1 is probably for you, regardless of how many years of experience you have. RMIT-2 is more geared towards the challenges that typically occur when you have a couple of years’ experience as a research manager. In RMIT-2, we will use so called customization devices, which are methods to relate content to the needs of individual participants. To sum up, RMIT-1 is more about understanding the entire system, whereas RMIT-2 is more about resolving challenges within a system.
-
Is it necessary to complete RMIT-1 before participating in RMIT-2?No. Each RMIT course is free-standing and relates to your current career stage, or RM Comp proficiency level.
-
Can you provide more details about what is included in the registration fee?Yes, the registration fee pays for participation in the course and access to all the course materials. What happens when I register for a RMIT course? After you have completed and submitted the online registration form, you will immediately receive confirmation both in your web browser and email. Should you not receive a confirmation email within c. an hour after registration (it usually happens immediately), please get in touch with us (RMIT@research-lighthouse.com). You will then receive another email with practical information about the course, including travel information, as well as an invoice. A few weeks before the course, you will receive a brief survey that will help us (and you) to relate your RMIT experience to the RM Comp framework, as well as allowing us to provide you with the best possible experience. At any time, should you have any questions, please reach out to us at the email address above.
